Chicago’s Community Kitchens is the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s culinary job training and placement program that prepares unemployed and underemployed adults for successful careers in the culinary and hospitality industry.
The program, which is free for students, is part of the Food Depository’s mission to eliminate the root causes of hunger. Founded in 1998, Chicago’s Community Kitchens has graduated more than 1,300 students and boasts a 90% job placement rate. From knife skills to life skills, the program empowers students to chase their dreams and fulfill their potential.
