Giving purpose to military veterans, inmates, and shelter dogs—all at the same time.

Canines With a Cause uses the untapped potential of shelter dogs to save three lives in one go. It starts with a rescued dog, who is sent to prison for service animal training. There, inmates have the opportunity to give back some of what they’ve taken from their community by working as full-time animal trainers. Finally, the service dogs are placed with military veterans—many of whom suffer from PTSD. By providing military veterans with a service dog at no cost to them, this organization empowers participants with purpose.
